Changes To NFL's Domestic Violence Penalty Could Come Next Month

The NFL "plans to move quickly on announcing and implementing" changes to its penalties for players involved in domestic violence, "possibly as early as next month." The league is making the issue "a priority by soliciting advice from experts in the field." A source said that changes are "imminent and expanded on that by saying the NFL is consulting with outside groups to revamp its approach on everything from education, training, assistance and enhanced discipline." The Washington Post first reported this week that the league was considering a policy change (ESPN.com, 8/15).
