For The Win's Tim Howard Story Is Second-Most Viral In Site History

A post last night on USA Today Sports Media Group's For The Win about U.S. G Tim Howard in less than 24 hours has become the second-most viral piece of content in the site's 15-month history. The post chronicled how the Wikipedia page for the U.S. Secretary of Defense was hacked to list Howard in the position, a move that Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales termed "exquisite" on Twitter, and has generated nearly 800,000 social referrals thus far. The only story on For The Win to receive more social attention was one posted in January about deaf Seahawks RB Derrick Coleman.
