Fantasy Sports Participants In U.S., Canada Increase To 41 Million

The Fantasy Sports Trade Association today said the number of fantasy sports participants in the U.S. and Canada has risen to more than 41 million, according to new research conducted by Ipso Public Affairs. The number is up by 13% from the results of a '12 study, and up 25% from the same survey in '10. Among the drivers of the steady, continued increase are mobile-based and daily fantasy games, and incoming new players continuing to outnumber those who stop playing. "There's reason to believe that fantasy sports will remain a foundational sports pastime," said FSTA President Paul Charchian.
