Street League Skateboarding Sells Out Of Its Official Sponsorships

Street League Skateboarding sold out of all of its official sponsorships for the first time since its inception in '10. The circuit, which was created by former pro skater and MTV star Rob Dyrdek, signed deals with Monster Energy, GoPro, PacSun and Cricket Wireless for this season. It also signed a new associate sponsorship with New Era. Nike SB is returning as the presenting sponsor of Street League, which will air this year on FS1. Official sponsorships are valued in the high-six figures while associate sponsorships are valued in the low- to mid-six figures. Street League President Brian Atlas said, “We feel really good about where we’ve landed (with sponsorships) for 2014. We’ve seen that brands want to reach out to Street League and have been a lot more engaged.”

Street League announced the dates and locations for four events this year. It is adding a new event called the Monster Energy Pro Open (May 17-18) in downtown L.A. that will feature 20 skateboarders competing to earn their way onto the tour. It will follow that competition with events at UIC Pavilion in Chicago (June 29); Galen Center in L.A. (July 27); and Prudential Center in Newark (Aug. 24).
