Under Armour Sees Q1 Profits Soar, But Warns Of Slowing Growth

Under Armour today reported a Q1 profit increase of 73%, "driven by strong sales in apparel and footwear." Net income jumped to $13.5M, compared with $7.8M in Q1 '13. The "results beat analysts' sales estimates and earnings expectations" (BALTIMORESUN.com, 4/24). However, UA warned that growth in '14 "might not be as strong as last year when the company benefited from the relaunch of its bags business and robust winter sales." Shares traded down as much as 10% "after the company's downbeat comments" (REUTERS, 4/24).

At presstime, shares of UA were trading at $50.48, down 7.3% (THE DAILY).
