InsideOut Looks To Increase Footprint After Acquisition By Horizon

InsideOut expects to double its number of senior men’s tennis events to about 40 in the next five years now that it has been acquired by Horizon Media, said Jon Venison. Venison co-founded InsideOut Sports + Entertainment with Tennis HOFer Jim Courier, who will also remain with the firm. InsideOut will operate as a unit of media placement firm Horizon. Currently, InsideOut operates the 12-tourney Powershares Series, and eight other senior men’s events. The expansion Venison foresees would take the series int'l. “The reason for the merger from our perspective is access to brands,” Venison said.

Horizon, which places $4B of ads annually, has a staff of 800, while InsideOut has around eight full-time employees. Horizon should help the search for sponsors, both for the events and for the circuit, he said. Venison declined to disclose terms of the purchase.
