Bill Simmons To Provide Analysis For ESPN, CSNNE On Same Night

Bill Simmons is "pulling double-duty" Friday night, as he will appear on ESPN's "NBA Countdown" at 7:30pm ET before joining Comcast SportsNet New England's coverage of Celtics-Lakers at 10:30pm ET. Simmons will be filling in for CSNNE's Tommy Heinsohn on the telecast. Simmons said, "I was toying with the idea of doing a whole road trip, but it just didn't work out." ESPN was "fine with letting Simmons call a game on a Comcast-owned network; it just asked in return for permission to use CSNNE's audio from the game production" (BOSTON GLOBE, 2/21).
