Sochi Organizers To Fund Jamaican Bobsledders' Olympic Travel

Jamaican Olympic officials today announced that the Sochi Organizing Committee "would cover all travel costs" for the country's bobsled team to take part in next month's Winter Games. Jamaican bobsledder Winston Watts said that he is "still doing additional fundraising for equipment, such as different kinds of runners for the sled." Watts has estimated the team needs up to $80,000 to "make the Olympic trip." Watts said, "The money's not all covered yet. We're still hoping for help. But I am very excited that we're officially qualified" (AP, 1/20).
