Ricketts Family Will Interact With Fans At Cubs Convention

The annual three-day Cubs Convention begins Friday night at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers, and opening night highlights will include the premiere of MLB Productions' "100 Years of Wrigley Field" movie. There will also be a "Cubs Jeopardy" game featuring former Cubs players. Saturday's "Cubs Business Operations Update" is expected to include discussions of "Wrigley Field's renovation plans, the television and radio partnerships, and new business opportunities" (MLB.com, 1/10).

The "most anticipated sessions" will be Saturday, "when fans can grill members of the Ricketts family, who own the team." Most fans "appear to be on board" with Cubs President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein's rebuilding plan, but there are "rumblings of discontent – which appear to be growing louder – after the Cubs posted 101 and 96 losses, respectively, in Epstein's first two years at the helm" (Illinois DAILY HERALD, 1/15).
