NASCAR Hires 28-Year-Old Jimmy Small As Iowa Speedway President

NASCAR today announced that it has hired Jimmy Small as the new Iowa Speedway President. Small, 28, was informed by NASCAR Chair & CEO Brian France in late September "that he would lead the speedway if a deal to purchase the facility" from the family of Conrad Clement was finalized. Small is "believed to be the youngest president of a major racing facility" in the U.S. As part of NASCAR’s team marketing services department, Small has worked with tracks to "develop and orchestrate everything from prerace activities to victory lane" (DESMOINESREGISTER.com, 12/12).
