Nike Unveils New Elite 51 Uniforms For Upcoming Pro Bowl Game

The NFL today unveiled new Nike uniforms that will be used in the next Pro Bowl game, set for Jan. 26 in Hawaii. The new NFL Nike Elite 51 uniforms coincide with the new format for the game, which will employ a fantasy football-style draft rather than the classic NFC-AFC arrangement (NFL).

ESPN's Darren Rovell writes this "might be seen as Nike's boldest move since it began its deal as the official on-field apparel brand of the NFL last season." USA TODAY's Chris Strauss notes the uniforms "resemble ones the company has designed for college programs such as Oregon, Baylor and West Virginia." The Portland OREGONIAN's Allan Brettman: "Opting for a marked shift in appearances may have been a way in acknowledging the lightly viewed game itself is undergoing a shift."
