NBA Deputy Commissioner & COO Adam Silver today said the league for the first time is in the process of appointing an owners' media committee, and the sport is in early talks to renew its TV contracts. Speaking at the Bloomberg Sports Business Conference, Silver said the league as it transitions from outgoing Commissioner David Stern is becoming more owner-centric. The NBA has long been a commissioner-centric league, as opposed to the very owner-driven NFL. Higher team values are changing the NBA to more of an owners' league, Silver said. The Kings recently being sold for $534M should serve as the floor for future NBA franchise sales, Silver said.
