NCAA Tournament's Average Rating Up 6% From Last Year
The NCAA Tournament averaged a 5.5 fast-national rating and 8.1 million viewers for Thursday’s 16 games, marking the most-viewed opening Thursday since the tourney expanded to four telecast windows in ’91. The 5.5 rating is up 4% from last year and marks the highest-rated opening Thursday in 19 years, dating back to a 5.6 rating in ’94. Including the First Four on Tuesday and Wednesday, the men’s tournament is averaging a 5.0 rating, up 6% from last year (CBS/Turner).
