Pirates, Red Sox Broadcast Talent Teams Up For Preseason Game

NESN on Friday night for the split-squad Spring Training game between the Red Sox and Pirates is implementing a "combined-squad broadcast team." Red Sox announcer Don Orsillo and Pirates announcer Tim Neverett "will rotate on the call every two or three innings." Analysts Jerry Remy and Bob Walk "will share the booth for all nine innings." This is the "first of five games in which NESN will partner with" an RSN. NESN PR & Promotions Manager Gary Roy said that the "chief reason for the mutual broadcasts is to break up the occasional monotony" of Spring Training (BOSTON GLOBE, 3/1).
