Memo Circulating Among MWC Presidents Questions NCAA Leadership

A memo questioning NCAA leadership reportedly "has circulated internally" among Mountain West Conference school presidents. The memo is directed at Fresno State Univ. President John Welty, who has served on "both of the NCAA's main governing bodies that are responsible for oversight and setting policy" – the Exec Committee and BOD. It reads in part, "Is it time for the presidents to seek new NCAA leadership or a new organization?" The memo refers to Welty as "our rep to the NCAA" (CBSSPORTS.com, 2/22).
