EA Sports To Emphasize 25 Years Of "Madden" In Latest Version

EA Sports on Friday said it will name the upcoming version of its "Madden NFL" video game franchise "Madden NFL 25" to tie into the game's 25th anniversary. A fan cover vote will be held for the third consecutive year, with this year's vote a historically themed one in which a 32-member bracket of NFL legends will compete against another 32-member bracket of current players. The fan vote, again heavily involving company partner ESPN, will commence March 11 with a bracket review show on ESPN2's "SportsNation." The game is slated for release Aug. 27.
