Former MLBer Curt Schilling Selling Bloody Sock Via Heritage Auctions

Former MLBer Curt Schilling is selling the blood-stained sock he wore during the '04 postseason after his video game company, 38 Studios, "underwent a spectacular collapse into bankruptcy last year." Heritage Auctions sports Dir Chris Ivy said that "online bidding begins around Feb. 4," with live bidding to take place Feb. 23. The sock previously had been on loan to the Baseball HOF. Ivy said that the sock is "expected to fetch at least $100,000, though he described that as a conservative estimate" (AP, 1/17).
