Saints LB Jonathan Vilma has asked a federal judge "to allow him to move forward with his defamation case" against NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Vilma wants to continue pursuing "damages from Goodell for harm he alleges was done to his reputation by the NFL's bounty probe" (AP, 12/12).
HTC has signed a three-year deal with UEFA to replace Sony as the official mobile phone supplier for the Champions League and Europa League. Sony, a Champions League sponsor since '09, "will retain an association with the competition through its PlayStation brand" (MARKETINGMAGAZINE.co.uk, 12/12).
The ATP BOD has approved the sale of the L.A. ATP World Tour 250 event to IMLA de Colombia, which will stage a new tournament at Centro de Alto Rendimiento in Bogota, Colombia. The venue hosted an ATP event from '97-'02 (ATP).
The NHLPA and RBC today announced that Lightning C Steven Stamkos and Canadiens D P.K. Subban will lead teams consisting of fellow locked out NHLers in the RBC Play Hockey Charity Challenge. The game will be played Dec. 19 at Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto (NHLPA).
The Denver Sports Commission will "join forces with Visit Denver's sports marketing efforts" beginning next year (DENVERPOST.com, 12/12).
