Pasadena City Council Set For Hearing On NFL Games At Rose Bowl

The Pasadena City Council tonight will hold a public hearing on "what course the city may pursue" regarding a proposal to host an NFL team at the Rose Bowl for up to five years. In order for talks with the NFL to begin, the City Council "must pass an ordinance to increase the number of large events allowed at the Rose Bowl from 12 to 25 each year, approve an associated environmental study and adopt a 'statement of overriding considerations' that pro football's potential benefits outweigh its downsides" (L.A. TIMES, 11/18).
