Grand Prix Of Baltimore's Attendance, Economic Impact Decline

A study commissioned by Grand Prix of Baltimore organizers Race On LLC found that the '12 event drew an estimated 131,000 attendees, down from 160,000 for the inaugural race in '11. Race On partner J.P. Grant said that he believes ticket sales and sponsorships "were negatively impacted by the uncertainty surrounding the race" (, 11/15). The study by Forward Analytics found the economic impact on the city was $42.3M, down from $47M. Organizers said that they are "pleased with the numbers considering the short turnaround time they had to make the race a reality" (, 11/15).
