PowerShares Series Senior Tennis Tour Set For First Event At MSG

The PowerShares Series tennis tour tonight will visit MSG for the first time with the NASDAQ Indexes Cup event featuring Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, John McEnroe and Patrick Rafter. The series, operated by Jim Courier's InsideOut Sports, has grown from one event in '05 to 12 this year and last year drew 5,000-7,000 fans a night. Courier: "We're giving everyone a one-night tennis tournament in three hours. We've hit a niche within the tennis world." While there are "no plans to expand the number of events, the tour has explored adding women" (N.Y. TIMES, 11/5).
