Arizona State Rolling Out Raffle Program To Fund Scholarships

Arizona State Univ. plans to roll out a new high-tech raffle program for tonight’s home football game against the Univ. of Oregon to raise money for athletic scholarships. The Pac-12 school has signed a deal with Pointstreak Technologies’ 50/50 Central to sell raffle tickets at Sun Devil Stadium, using a combination of mobile devices and portable kiosks. Officials plan to sell raffle tickets shortly into the third quarter. The winning ticket buyer receives half the total money raised; the other half of the proceeds goes to the Sun Devil Club, a nonprofit group supporting the school’s athletic programs.
Arizona State is the first major college deal for 50/50 Central, a company that has several deals at the major league level, including the D’Backs and Coyotes. The D’Backs raised a little more than $1M over the course of the ‘12 season, said Pointstreak President & CEO Scott Secord.
