Giants WR Victor Cruz Yet To Officially Part Ways With Agents

One of the two NFLPA-certified agents who represent Victor Cruz said that the Giants WR has told him he is leaving the firm, but has not officially terminated them. "Victor has not mailed us an official termination notice and he has to do that and he hasn't done that yet," said Abu Toppin, who co-owns Reliance Sports Management with Jack Huntington. "So for all intents and purposes he is still our client.” The Wall Street Journal reported today that Cruz “has parted ways with his agent.” Toppin said that Cruz told Huntington right before the article appeared he was leaving, but didn’t send them a letter terminating them, as is required under NFLPA rules. “Jack (Huntington) talked to him and he seemed to say he had made his made up but did not indicate what direction he was going in,” Toppin said.

“It’s disappointing,” Toppin continued. “You work hard for somebody and you hope that they would remain intact. A player who comes from nowhere and blows up. It was kind of a perfect storm for us.” Cruz recently signed with IMG for marketing work.
