NBA Lines Up Social Media Initiatives As Shortened Season Nears

The NBA has scheduled a Facebook-based town hall session for tomorrow night featuring Thunder F Kevin Durant, Knicks F Amar'e Stoudemire and Warriors G Stephen Curry, among others. Fans will be able to submit questions to be answered live, beginning at 8:00pm ET on the league's Facebook page. In addition, the league tomorrow will hold a day-long merchandise giveaway at its @NBA Twitter feed, dubbed "#BigNBAXmas." Among the more than 150 scheduled giveaways are game tickets for the Christmas Day league openers, NBA Store gift cards, jerseys and video games.

The two initiatives are part of a broader series of digital and social media outreach efforts by the league designed to help promote the start of the abbreviated regular season.
