NASCAR Dir Of Corporate Marketing Van Zelst Leaving Organization

NASCAR officials on Friday notified staff that sales exec Ted Van Zelst is leaving the organization. Friday was Van Zelst's last day as Dir of Corporate Marketing. NASCAR already has begun searching for a replacement. It announced Thursday it plans to hire multiple high-level sales execs. Van Zelst already has a job lined up but declined to name it, saying that he was still negotiating terms with his next employer.

He said, "With the restructuring, this is a perfect opportunity for me to make a clean break for them and me. It's been a good seven years, and I'm ready for the next challenge." Over seven years at NASCAR, he played a role in delivering more than $100M worth of deals. He was involved in signing Aflac, Prilosec, COPD and others to NASCAR official sponsorships. He previously worked in sales for the Islanders.
