NASCAR Partners With Ten80 To Launch Student Racing Challenge

NASCAR is expected to announce a partnership with an education advocacy group that will result in the creation of NASCAR-themed curriculum for students in grades 6-12. The Ten80 Student Racing Challenge, as the program will be known, was developed in partnership with Ten80, an organization focused on cultivating youth interest in science, technology, engineering and math. It will challenge students to use math skills in order to optimize the performance of a 1:10 scale race car.

Students will form teams and earn points in categories ranging from aerodynamic design to creative engineering to sustainable design. The teams with the most collective points will compete in a national final at a NASCAR track each May. The program includes 200 teams and more than 2,000 students.
