Showtime Formally Announces Plans For Show Featuring S.F. Giants

Showtime is formally announcing plans to produce a "Hard Knocks"-style series centered on the MLB Giants. Showtime is making the announcement during its presentation at the Television Critics Association press tour in Southern California Friday. The series does not have a name yet, but it is currently in production. It will be shot over the course of 10 months.

Producers currently are gathering footage from the homes of Giants players and employees. Showtime plans to premiere the series around Opening Day of the '11 season; other episodes are planned to run during the second half of the season. An agreement to do the show was struck by Showtime, MLB Productions and the Giants. Showtime and MLB Productions are collaborating on the series.
