JETS AND FALCONS ADD LEVITRATO SPONSORSHIP ROSTERS

Afterearlier news of a similar deal with the 49ers, the Jets today announced amultiyear deal with NFL sponsor Levitra, the erectile dysfunction drug co-marketedby Bayer and GlaxoSmithKline. Under theJets deal, Levitra receives signage at The Meadowlands, as well as exposurethrough broadcast, print and online media (Jets).

TheATLANTA BUSINESS CHRONICLE reports that the Falcons have signed a multiyeardeal with Levitra as well. Levitra willreceive signage at the Georgia Dome, as well as exposure through broadcast,print and online media (BIZJOURNALS.com,9/3).


BANK OF AMERICA SIGNS SPONSORSHIP DEAL WITH COWBOYS

TheCowboys today announced a multiyear agreement with Bank of America (BofA),designating the company as the official bank of the team and sponsor of TexasStadium. BofA will receive variousmarketing, entertainment and hospitality opportunities, as well as its logo onselect season tickets and Texas Stadium signage. The club will feature the BofA logo in a campaign across TV,radio and print platforms. Additionally, BofA will have a presence at the Cowboys training camp (BofA).


RAIN DELAYS U.S. OPEN AGAIN WITH 108 MATCHES SCHEDULED

TheAP reports that rain “again delayed the start of U.S. Open play [today] beforetop-seeded Kim Clijsters and No. 5 Amelie Mauresmo took the courton a day when a record 108 matches were scheduled.” Martina Navratilova, on the rain delays: “Yesterday theyspent more time drying the courts than it rained. When are they going to learn? We have no say on it. Yesterday,it was two hours of play, six hours of drying. Fifteen minutes is enough after a drizzle” (AP,9/3).


MANU AND REAL MADRID COME TOTERMS ON BECKHAM TRANSFER

ANANOVA.comreports that ManU and Real Madrid have reached an agreement, under which ManUwill “receive [US$17.3M] of the [US$39.3M] transfer fee for David Beckham in alump sum.” ManU originally was due toreceive a US$18.9M payment in “equal installments over four years but will nowreceive the money up front.” ManU has“already received [US$7.9M]” of the fee with the remaining amount “beingsubject to Real’s performances” in the UEFA Champions League (ANANOVA.com, 9/3).


MOTOROLA LEVERAGING NFL IN MARKETINGDEAL WITH COMCAST

Motorolatoday announced a marketing initiative with Comcast to promote Comcast’s high-speed Internet service and Motorolatechnology. Motorola is using its dealwith the NFL to include “Motorola’sSuper Fast Super Bowl XXXVIII Sweepstakes,” which includes the opportunityto win a trip to Super Bowl XXXVIII. Raiders QB Rich Gannon and WR Jerry Rice will be featuredin the campaign, which runs through October 31 (Motorola).

Miami-based BEVsystems today announced it has signed49ers WR Terrell Owens to an endorsement deal, under which Owens willendorse the Life 02 Super Oxygenated bottled water. Owens is repped by David Joseph of Joseph AthleticManagement. BEVsystems also plans torelease the names of other NFL players as endorsers of the bottled water in thenear future (BEVsystems).

TSNtoday announced that it has signed on as the exclusive Canadian broadcaster ofthe ’04 UEFA European Championship June 12-July 4 in Portugal, marking thefifth consecutive UEFA European Championship TSN will broadcast (TSN).

The FINANCIAL TIMES reports that ATHOC President GiannaAngelopoulos-Daskalaki yesterday delivered a report “on seven Olympic test eventsstaged last month” in Athens, and she warned that “Greeks must rally round theorganizers of the 2004 Olympics to ensure the Athens games are a success.” Angelopoulous-Daskalaki also said “failuresin hospitality … could undermine the success of the games” (FINANCIALTIMES, 9/3).

The AP reports that the NFL today “presented a four-year, $2[M]grant to Action for Healthy Kids, a nationwide partnership focused on boostingaccess to nutritious foods and promoting physical activity in schools” (AP,9/3).

ISC today announced the election of American Trucking AssociationPresident & CEO Bill Graves to the company’s BOD (ISC).

The Hamilton Group today announced that it has been retained byLuge Olympian Anne Abernathy for sponsorship and endorsementopportunities (Hamilton Group).
