TODAY’S ARTICLES OF INTEREST

The FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM’s Randy Galloway writes of Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones’ first training camp with coach Bill Parcells, “Jerry is personally riding a public-perception high, which is not exactly a surprise to an owner who is escaping media heat and fan displeasure for the first training camp in years. Jones knew Parcells would bring him relief in these areas. And while Jerry admits this 180-degree spin to positive perception for the Cowboys may only be temporary … he also talks about the here and now being close to overwhelming” (FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM).

The PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS’ Sam Donnellon writes, “They bought the team and brought your championship dreams back... Then, in two straight offseasons, they went out of their way to throw cold water on those dreams. … They are [Eagles President] Joe Banner and [Eagles Owner] Jeffrey Lurie, and their missteps are as comically confounding as their other manipulations are shrewd” (PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS).
