WORDS WILL NEVER HURT YOU: STORE BRACES FOR KNIGHT SIGNING

The INDIANAPOLIS STAR writes that there are "four clues" that TX Tech coach Bob Knight's local book-signing events this weekend in Bloomington, IN, "could be just like the author – colorful and controversial:"

  1. The store where Knight will appear "has already received numerous phone calls about whether customers can camp out overnight for the book signing" at 6:00pm CT Sunday (The answer: No camping allowed).
  2. The "first jokes about Knight throwing a chair have been tossed out" at the Indianapolis store where he will sign the book.
  3. The Bloomington bookstore staff "will wear referee shirts to greet Knight."
  4. Extra security "has been ordered because thousands of people are expected to wait in line."

Bloomington Barnes & Nobles assistant manager Melissa Little: "We're all a little frightened, quite frankly" (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 4/4).

Univ. of MD men's college basketball coach Gary Williams, who received a standing ovation during last night's Orioles game, "will throw out the first pitch before tomorrow's game against Boston" at Camden Yards (Baltimore SUN, 4/4).
